【摘要】:Thistestmethodspecifiessamplingandtestingproceduresforthemeasurementofaveragefiberdiameterandvariationindiameterofanimalfibers.Thistestmethodisconsideredsatisfactoryforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipmentsofwoolandotheranimalfibersinrawandsliverformbecausecurrentestimatesofbetween-laboratoryprecisionareacceptable.Incasesofdisagreementarisingfromdifferencesinvaluesreportedbytwoormorelaboratorieswhenusingthistestmethodforacceptancetesting,thestatisticalbias,ifany,betweenthelaboratoriesshouldbedeterminedwitheachcomparisonbeingbasedonthetestingofspecimensrandomlydrawnfromonesampleofmaterialofthetypebeingevaluated.TestMethodD2130shallbeusedasarefereetestmethod.ThistestmethodmaybeusedfordeterminingcompliancewithaveragefiberdiameteranddiametervariationtoassigngradeswhendeterminingconformanceofshipmentstomaterialspecificationsgiveninSpecificationsD2252,D3991,andD3992,andTestMethodD2816.TheproceduresfordeterminingmeanfiberdiameterandstandarddeviationoffiberdiameterprovidedinthistestmethodandinIWTOMethod47-98areinessentialagreement.1.1ThistestmethodcoversaprocedurethatusesanOpticalFiberDiameterAnalyser(OFDA)forthedeterminationoftheaveragefiberdiameterandthefiberdiametervariationinwoolandotheranimalfibersintheirvariousforms.Note1-Thistestmethodmayalsobeappliedtootherfibershavingaroundcrosssectionsuchassomepolyamides,polyesters,andglass;itmayalsobeappliedtoalimitednumberofpolyacrylicsandregeneratedcellulose-typefibers.Note2-Insubsequentsectionsofthistestmethod,theterm"wool"alsosignifiesotheranimalfiberswhereapplicable.Note3-Forfinenessspecificationsofwool,wooltop,mohair,mohairtop,alpaca,andcashmere,refertoSpecificationsD3991,D3992,D2252,andTestMethodD2816,respectively.1.2TheOFDAreportsaveragefiberdiameterandstandarddeviationoffiberdiameterinmicrometerunits(m).Thecoefficientofvariationoffiberdiameterisreportedasapercentage.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
