【摘要】:Theseproceduresprovideanindicationoftheenvironmentalstress-crackresistanceofplastictightheaddrums.Thistestmethodmaybeusedfordeterminingtheapplicabilityofvariousplasticresins,molddesigns,processingtechniquesandparametersforplastictightheaddrums.Environmentalstresscrackingisindicativeofwhatresultswhenacontainerisexposedtochemicalagentssuchassoaps,organics,bleaches,oranysurfaceactivesolutionswhileunderconditionsofstress.Environmentalstresscrackingisamechanismofchemicalattackthatishighlydependentuponthetestreagent,resin,drummanufacturingorprocessinghistory,exposuretemperature,andappliedstress.Thecombinationofthesefactorsmayresultineventualstresscrackfailure.Bothproceduresminimizethepotentialfortestvariabilitybyprovidingtheuserwithrigidlydefinedtestconditions.Thistestmethodmaybeusedasdesignqualificationandauditingtoolsforplastictightheaddrums.Thistestmethodisnotmeanttoprovideaquantitativevalueofmeasurement(thatis,numberofdaystofailure).Itisintendedonlyasapass/failprocedureinaccordancewithuser’specifications,orasagreeduponbetweentheuserandsupplier.Itisnotintendedasapredictororindicatoroffieldperformanceregardingtimetofailure.1.1Thistestmethodprovidesanindicationoftheenvironmentalstresscrackresistanceofplastictightheaddrumsasasummationoftheeffectsofcontainerdesign,resin,manufacturingconditions,fieldperformance,andotherfactors.1.2Thistestmethodmaybeusedtoevaluateaplasticdrum'sresistancetofailurebycrackingwheninthepresenceofchemicalandphysicalstresses.1.3Twoproceduresareprovidedasfollows:1.3.1ProcedureA8212;Internalpressurestresscrackresistancemethodtononylphenoxypoly(ethyleneoxy)ethanolsolution,astresscrackingreagent.Theinternalpressureiscontrolledataconstantelevatedpressureandtemperature.1.3.2ProcedureB8212;Top-loadstresscrackresistancemethodtononylphenoxypolyethanol,astresscrackingreagent.Thecompressivetoploadiscontrolledataconstantweightwhilemaintaininganelevatedtemperature.1.4Althoughtheseproceduresarenotdesignedtotesttheabilityoftheclosureorclosuregasketmaterialtoretainthetestreagent,theinclusionofclosurefailureasacontainerfailuremodeisoptional.However,leakagethroughaclosuremayaffecttheinternalpressurethatcouldaffectthetestresults.1.5Thistestmethoddoesnotattempttoaddressallfactorsthatcouldleadtostresscrackingofplasticdrums.Theuserofthisstandardmayuseothertestparameters,suchastoploads,chemicalreagents,etc.,asagreeduponbetweentheuserandsupplierintheeventofadrumqualificationorpurchaseagreement.1.6Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.TheSIunitsgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Specificwarningstatementsaregivenin6.2.
