【摘要】:Theproceduresinthistestmethodshouldbeusedforinvivoevaluationtheantimicrobialactivityofdrugproductsappliedtopicallytotheskinthatareintendedtohelppreventinfectioninminorcuts,scrapesandburns.Thistestmethodisapplicablefortestingliquids,ointments,powders,films,ordressingcontainingorimpregnatedwithanantimicrobialfortheireffecttoreduceanenhancedskinmicrofloraortheireffectstosuppressthegrowthoftheskinflora,orboth.1.1Thetestsdescribedinthistestmethodaredesignedtoevaluateantimicrobialagentsinformulationsintendedforuseasfirstaidantisepticproductsfortheirabilitytoreduceorsuppressthegrowth,orboth,oftheskinmicroflora.1.2Aknowledgeofmicrobiologicaltechniquesisrequiredfortheseprocedures.1.3Performanceofthisprocedurerequirestheknowledgeofregulationspertainingtotheprotectionofhumansubjects.(SeeCFRParts50and56.)1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
