【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodcoversthemeasurementofthewetretroreflective(RL)propertiesofhorizontalpavementmarkingmaterials,suchastrafficstripesandroadsurfacesymbols,usingaportableormobileretroreflectometerthatcanbeplacedonorbeforetheroadmarkingtomeasuretheretroreflectionattheprescribedgeometry.1.2Thismethodofmeasuringthewetretroreflectiveproperties(RL)ofpavementmarkingsmeasuresthewetretroreflectivityinastandardconditionofwetness(seeFig1).1.2.1Discussion8212;Thistestconditiontypicallyexists(1)afterarainfallhasendedandthepavementmarkingsarestillwetor(2)asthemarkingsarewetfromdeworhumidity.1.3Retroreflectiveperformanceobtainedwiththistestinconditionsofwetnessdoesnotnecessarilyrelatetohowmarkingsperforminconditionsofrain,thatis,asmarkingsarebeingrainedupon.Note18212;TestMethodE2176definesamethodtousetomeasuretheperformanceofpavementmarkingsinconditionsofsimulatedrain.1.4ThistestmethodspecifiestheuseofportableormobilereflectometersthatcanmeasurepavementmarkingsinaccordancewithTestMethodE1710.Theentranceandobservationanglesrequiredoftheretroreflectometerinthistestmethodarecommonlyreferredtoas"30metergeometry."1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
